Clear cache or disable Microsoft Office Upload CenterBackgroundIntroductionIssueClear cache of the Office Upload CenterDisable Microsoft Office Upload Center
Office Upload center poses a potential issue when using Highstage, as you might risk working on local copies of files rather than original files stored in Highstage. This guide shows you the steps necessary to disable Office Upload Center to avoid this issue.
Office Upload Center was introduced in Office 2010 and supports the state of the files that you are working on that get's uploaded to a server.
When you are working with remote Office files where you are unable to save, the file is stored locally in the Office Document Cache on your computer. This is implemented, so that you can continue working on the file locally up until the point that you are able to upload the file to the designated server.
Working on files locally up until the file can be uploaded to the remote server, as supported by the Office Upload Center, is an issue when using Highstage. Highstage controls the write access to files, so that you are unable to edit files which are locked due to the state of the documents (document not in working state and therefore locked for further editing).
Thus, you might end up working on a locally cached version of a document to which you don\t have write access to in Highstage.
The cached projects will now be deleted from the list of pending office documents.
Checking Delete files from the Office Document Cache when they are closed will ensure that no documents are cached locally on your system when you close the Office files.
Disabling Office Upload Center is currently limited to Windows 10 and requires a running installation of OneDrive
This will disable the Office Upload Center from running on the system.
